Liège: Gare des Guillemins
It’s hard to believe the train station shown below, Gare des Guillemins, was first built in 1842. Well, that might just be because this train station was recently renovated (2009) into a state-of-the-art facility. In fact, it might just be the most modern train station in Belgium. It took about 10 years to renovate and build it. The architecture is so unique that people travel to this station just to take pictures. Continue reading “Liège: Gare des Guillemins”

I’d never been to one of those, and it’s kind of interesting to see how it works. At the end of each day, the fishermen come back from from the sea and try to sell what they fished at the best price possible. To do so, they unload their fish from their boats and bring it to what is called the outcry market. There, professionals bid on the price of the fish.
