It seems I may have forgotten to post these few photos of my visit to Ghent a little over a year ago.
I went there with my mom while on a visit to Belgium to visit my family. I can’t even remember whether I had been there before. Quite a charming city if you ask me. Two things I particularly enjoyed: Restaurant Pakhuis and Brouwerij Gruut.
You can’t help but be amazed by the architecture of the city, but Pakhuis has quite a bit of history in its own right. It’s an old warehouse transformed into one of the coolest restaurants in Ghent. I’d say the food is your typical elevated Belgian dishes (américain préparé ou steak tartare, etc.). The decor is really what makes the place. Brouwerij Gruut on the other hand (and in a different part of the city) is a craft brewery offering quite an array of beer styles. They also offer tours of the canals. Nice place!
