Shining the light on the Stanley

Get it?! 😉 It’s a beautiful hotel, and I’d love to go back and visit the inside.

I thought I’d do a quick post about the Stanley Hotel because it’s in Estes Park and they’ve been struggling with the wildfires lately. We visited Estes Park right after Rocky Mountain NP at the end of August. Beautiful mountain views!

As you most likely know, the Stanley was featured in The Shining with Jack Nicholson and directed by Stanley Kubrick. It has 142 rooms and is built in the Colonial Revival style.

  1. We toured this lovely hotel and even bought some etched glassware for a friend at the gift shop. (Her last name is Stanley.) I didn’t know much about the ghost tales in this place until the tour, but now, i’m not so sure I’d want to stay there. However, it’s a lovely, lovely place!

Comments? They are much appreciated! ;)
