North Coast potpourri

As you can tell I’m way behind on editing and posting so here it is…

I went to California’s North Coast back in July of last year and visited Eureka, Arcata, McKinleyville, Shelter Cover (very secluded but totally worth the drive), etc.

I even stopped by the Mad River Fish Hatchery and discovered that the world’s largest totem pole is, well, in McKinleyville. The pole is 160 feet high and weighs 57,000 lbs. The base alone weighs 214,000 lbs. The redwood was supplied by the Pacific Lumber Co. and is 500 years old… but who is counting?

Other than that, I stumbled upon the Romano Gabriel Sculpture Garden in Arcata, CA. I’d say it was a full trip!

Comments? They are much appreciated! ;)
