Fort Laramie National Historic Site

I got to visit this back in November. I’m not going to give you a history lesson, but I think you should go on the NPS website and read about this piece of American history.

In a nutshell: “Originally established as a private fur trading fort in 1834, Fort Laramie evolved into the largest and best known military post on the Northern Plains before its abandonment in 1890. This “grand old post” witnessed the entire sweeping saga of America’s western expansion and Indian resistance to encroachment on their territories.”

You probably know by now I’m not a huge fan of snakes so I hid behind Nikki (who is also terrified of snakes) and hoped for the best. It was probably too cold for those fellows anyway, but it’s hard to forget they exist when they constantly remind you they are there with signs all of the place.

Well anyway, next time you are in Southern Wyoming…

Comments? They are much appreciated! ;)
