Yellowstone: Old Faithful

Yup! This one is definitely a staple.

I don’t know that it’s necessarily the most majestic thing I saw at the park, but I gotta say… it’s pretty cool. I think that the fact that you have to wait for Mother Nature to do its thing probably adds to the magic. Old faithful used to erupt at much longer intervals, but the intervals have recently been shorter. About 90 minutes. We missed it by a hair so we had to wait for the full 90 minutes. Worth it. Definitely worth it.

Old Faithful at Yellowstone is one of three Old Faithful Geysers in the world. So far, I have visited two of them: the one in Calistoga, CA and the one in Yellowstone National Park, WY. I guess we’ll have to take a trip to New Zealand to see Pohutu Geyser.
