From Keene to Death Valley

… a few hours of driving and a dramatic change in landscape.

California is awesome… it also can’t really make up its mind because one side you are looking at the snow-capped Sierras and on the other a few Joshua trees in the middle of the desert. Weird. And beautiful.

On our way to Death Valley, we stopped in Bakersfield for the night and then took the road towards the park the next day. On the way, we stopped at Cesar E. Chavez National Monument, which I’ve already posted photos for but also a few other places. We then arrived at the park but slept right outside of it at night in Lone Pine.

Lone Pine is pretty incredible. It’s got the Sierras on the western side and the desert on the eastern side. Quite the landscape if you ask me.

  1. Awesome Pics!! I love the desert! Just drove through there on my way to Vegas last week. I wish I could capture the beauty of the desert like you : )
