¡Viva la Huelga! An hommage to César E. Chávez

Nice surprise on our way to Death Valley National Park: César E. Chávez National Monument!

I learned a ton about the importance of César E. Chávez while I was there. I always knew he did great things for the Chicano farm workers but never really knew the extent to which his movement changed working conditions and contributed to workers’ rights.

It’s kind of remote and easy to overlook (Keene, CA), but if you get a chance go! It’s really informative and you get to see the place of his and his wife’s burial. Truly a nice hommage to a great man, who taught his people that Si, Se Puede! It’s still in the process of being remodeled, but I think it’s important to go and learn about our history.
