Seriously one of my favorite places. It’s just breathtaking.
After driving quite a bit from Vegas to Grand Canyon, hiking Grand Canyon, then driving to Page, AZ, I finally made it. (I know that’s a run-on sentence, but it was a run-on day!) I had to rest and wait until the morning to make it to Horseshoe Bend, but the drive to Page seemed a little endless to say the least. Anyway, it was all worth it.
Horseshoe Bend is part of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, which also comprises the dam (featured in my next post).
By the way, I should mention that the first photo below is made up of three photos. This is my first attempt at a panoramic photograph. Not quite there yet as I didn’t capture everything on the right. I blended all the photos together and then cropped it to the size of a regular photograph. None of the lenses I brought with me could have captured the entirety of the canyon and the sky all in one shot.
The photos look great, but I can see that it’s just one of those places where you have to be there to fully appreciate it!
Very true. Time for a trip? 😉
If only the finances would stretch that far! One day…
