Salton Sea shores

The shores and outskirts of the Salton Sea are a little surreal to say the least.

It’s a mix of Mexican villages and hippie towns. Weird combination if you ask me, but definitely worth the trip! I absolutely loved the oddity.

The shores, however, are full of birds and remind me of the San Francisco Bay. The following pictures were taken at the Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge, where we experienced crazy wind. Also, you can find obsidian chunks in abundance. Some of the photos were taken in other parts of Calipatria.
