Salt encrusted Bombay Beach

This isn’t in India or anything. It’s in good ol’ California in the Sonoran Desert.

The population there is on the decline, but frankly try going there and you’ll see why. There is absolutely nothing around and the inland Salton Sea is ravaging the buildings. It makes for a pretty surreal atmosphere. It’s almost as if time was suspended and people fled. Apocalyptic, really. It’s a quasi ghost town with under 300 people. That was in 2010, and I’m not even sure there are as many as that now.

I introduce to you… Bombay Beach:
