The Red-shouldered Hawk

This is another great catch from our Yosemite trip last weekend -the Red-shouldered Hawk.

For years, I’ve wanted to photograph a bigger bird like a falcon or a hawk. But every time, I would stop the car and the bird would fly away before I could snap a picture. It all changed last weekend when we hiked over to Mirror Lake (photos to come) and some guy pointed out the bird to me. I started following it from tree to tree and was able to get close enough to have a really great look at it.
