Quaint little town in the middle of nowhere right on Route 66. It was my third time there and it, again, didn’t disappoint.
Oatman is a former mining town in the Black Mountains of Arizona’s Mohave County. You can still see some of the miners’ settlements up on the hills. The main attraction there are the donkeys that freely roam the streets. They used to help the miners in their tasks. After a while, they became acquainted to the miners and were part of the village. Now, they still are a big part of Oatman and attract many tourist.
We got there on Labor Day Monday early in the morning as the stores were opening up. There wasn’t very much activity at the time so it was a very different experience from my previous visits. Still very cool!
