Inside look of the new SFO tower

The San Francisco International Airport is almost ready to turn the tower in to the Federal Aviation Administration

Once it is turned in to the FAA, no one will be allowed in the building except for FAA employees. The FAA will have about 8 months to equip the tower with brand-new devices and test it before it goes live and replaces its 60-year-old predecessor.

I had the privilege to climb the 343 steps that lead to the top of the tower to take a few photos of the tower itself as well as the airfield. This is what I came back with…
